Last week I attended the Niche Affiliate Marketing Systems Workshop, also known as NAMS. I had heard how great NAMS was from Lynn Terry, Nicole Dean, and Kelly McCausey. Even with the recommendations from these three awesome people, I was still apprehensive. I had gone to another conference, that shall remain nameless, last year and was not impressed at all. It seemed to be more about parting than learning. Let me say this though, Lynn, Nicole, and Kelly were all right – NAMS is awesome!
I had the absolute best time and [...]
Monday, August 9, 2010, I am hosting a free webinar to talk about some of my favorite blogging tools. These are tools you can use regardless of what blogging platform you use, WordPress, Blogger, TypePad, it doesn’t matter. The best part is that all of the tools, with the exception of two, are free!
During my free webinar, I will discuss these tools and tell you how I use them to help grow my blog, stay in touch with my readers, get more traffic, and keep track of what my friends [...]
I had a great response to my question about joining an online blogging/business prayer group. Between the comments left and the tweets I received, I decided to move forward with it.
The first online blogging/business prayer meeting will be Monday, July 28, 2010 at 9:00pm CST. If you would like to join us, just sign up below with your name and email address. This will put you on my prayer group mailing list so that I can email you reminders about the prayer meetings and the login link to my conference [...]
Last Monday I stepped out of my comfort zone. I went to a live event by myself. And actually participated and connected with the other people. I attended the Oklahoma City WordPress Meet-Up.
While there where not a lot of people in attendance, only 6, since it was a Memorial Day, it was enjoyable to talk with others who use and love WordPress too. I was surprised to see that two of the people in attendance, hadn’t even used WordPress before but were merely there to learn more about getting started [...]
Last week Lynn Terry announced that she was closing the Elite group to new members temporarily. You can read her decision on her 7 year birthday post. In this post she listed somethings she has learned in the 7 years that she has been running the Self-Starter’s Weekly Tips site. One of the items listed is “You can’t do this alone. Join a group, hire a coach, get a mentor…”
If there is one thing I have learned so far in my online business journey it is this – you need [...]
Have you been wanting to jump into blogging but feel overwhelmed by all that’s involved in getting started? My friend Kelly has a great opportunity for you to make the leap in style. All the hard work of installation and theme set up will be done for you – you’ll even be able to watch!
It’s all part of Blog Week – a special event running from March 15th to 19th. You won’t believe the deal she’s put together for you. It includes your domain, three months of hosting [...]
As you can probably tell from the button to the right I will be attending the Blissdom Conference in February. Two friends, Kelly & Louise, and I are road tripping it together from Texas to Tennessee. Ironiclly though, only one of us actually lives in Texas. Go figure.
So why am I attending Blissdom? As many of you know Kelly and I started Faithful Bloggers as a place for Christian bloggers to come to for support, encouragement, and advice. When reading different blogs and tweets about the people [...]
Today my friend LaTara had her first show on Blog Talk Radio. She did a great job and hit on some great points about following God’s will for your life in regards to your online business.
LaTara’s show is called Let’s Talk Integration and will be aired lived every Monday at 12:00pm CST. You can also listen to a replay of today’s show over at Blog Talk Radio as well. I highly recommend listening to the relay. LaTara gives out some great information and a listener who called in, JoJo, [...]
Did you know that Mom Masterminds offers what we call Monday Morning Breakthrough which is a 1 hour web conference open to public that is encouragement to fire up your week! It is held every Monday morning at 9:30am CST in Kelly McCausey’s conference room. The best part is that you don’t have to be a member of Mom Masterminds to attend. Everyone and anyone is welcome to attend.
I attended this mornings breakthrough session and we talked about finding the holes in our business and blogs and getting focused to [...]
photo credit: Charles WilliamsI admit it – I’m a bit of a WordPress snob. I love WordPress and wouldn’t even dream of using anything else. When I first started blogging with my mommy blog, A Mom Speaks, I started out using a Blogger blog because it was the only thing I knew of. Within two months of starting my fist blog I discovered WordPress, moved my blog over to a self hosted WordPress blog and haven’t looked back.
What I love the most about having a self-hosted WordPress blog [...]
