Our purpose is to provide a common ground where we can encourage one another to use our blogs for the glory of God. While we want to mix and mingle and have fun, our purpose is to help you build a blog that will glorify the Lord while also strengthening your relationship with Him.

I’m excited to announce that Faithful Bloggers is growing! Faithful Blogger’s now has a sister site, Faithful Devotions, which is dedicated to sharing the Word of God one post at a time through devotions, bible studies, and personal testimonies.

To help Faithful Devotions grow I am asking for guest posts and contributing writers. If you are interested in writing for Faithful Devotions on a regular basis, at least once a week, then please email me at support@faithfulbloggers.com with Faithful Devotions in the subject line.

To celebrate the launch of Faithful Devotions I am also giving something away. Everyone who submits a guest post at Faithful Devotions over the next two week period will be entered to win a free 30 minute blog/online business consultation with me. You can ask me any questions about blogging or running an online business you want. You can get my feedback on anything you wish. We can even just spend the time brainstorming ideas. What ever the winner wants.

I hope you will check out Faithful Devotions and if the Lord leads, submit a post. Also I would love to hear your feedback about the new site.

Today I have a guest post for you from author Cathy Bryant.

For those of us who blog and/or conduct business via the internet, online interaction is something we often do on autopilot. But as Christians, I think it’s wise to remember that what we do is for Someone greater than ourselves. Since our God is an awesome God, let’s remember to put the AWE in our online interaction.

A – Ambassadors

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. ~2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)

An ambassador is a direct representative of a higher authority in a foreign, and sometimes even hostile, territory. Our higher authority is Christ, and His appeal is through us. What is His appeal? For all to be reconciled to God.

The idea of reconciliation carries with it the responsibility of drawing two together from a distance. Everything we do should be for the purpose of inviting those distanced from God to come into His family or come back into His fold.

W – Witnesses

“But you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” ~Acts 1:8 (NIV)

A witness is one who testifies about a personal experience. The scripture above doesn’t say we might be witnesses or that we can be a witness if we want. It says we will be witnesses.

Every minute of every day we are witnesses. The choice of whether to be a good or bad witness is ours. The challenge comes when things don’t go our way, when in spite of our good intentions, others treat us unfairly. Will we choose to be a good witness even in trying circumstances?

E – Employees

“As long as it is day, we must do the work of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work.” ~John 9:4 (NIV)

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. ~Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)

It’s so easy to get caught up in living our everyday lives to the point that we fail to consider eternity. This life is a breath, a vapor, a quickly-fading flower, not just for us, but for everyone—including those who don’t know Jesus.

Our interactions with others are God appointments—opportunities to make an eternal difference in their lives. Let’s not forget Who we’re working for or the task we’ve been given. It truly is a matter of eternal life or death.

My prayer for all of us as we go about our businesses and write our blog posts is that we’ll remember to put the AWE in our online interaction. In fact, I pray we’ll remember to do it all the time.

Cathy Bryant’s debut novel, TEXAS ROADS, was a 2009 finalist in the American Christian Fiction Writer’s Genesis contest. Cathy makes her home in a century-old farmhouse in East Texas with her music minister husband of nearly thirty years and a phobia-ridden cat. You can learn more about her at www.CatBryant.com.

Participating in a group writing project is a great way to meet bloggers, get involved in the Christian blogging community, get links back to your site, and you will receive a free copy of the special report to give away on your blog.

Check out the group writing project post over at Faithful Bloggers for more information.

The first online blogging/business prayer meeting will be Monday, July 28, 2010 at 9:00pm CST. If you would like to join us, just sign up below with your name and email address. This will put you on my prayer group mailing list so that I can email you reminders about the prayer meetings and the login link to my conference room we will using.

Edited: Due to other obligations, I am going to have to move the prayer meeting to Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 9pm CST. Sorry about. The prayer meetings will be held weekly, just on Thursday nights instead of Mondays. Thanks for understanding.

Here it is, my big idea—

Online Business/Blog Prayer Group

It would work something like this – as I imagine it anyways. I would rent an online conference room (I already have one picked out ), and then Christian bloggers or Christians with online business and myself could all meet in the conference once a week and pray for one another. We would pray for each other blogs, businesses, any issues they having with their blog, etc. This would be free even though the conference room would cost money that comes out of my pocket. It would be a ministry tool.

So what do you think? Is this something you would be interested in? I would love to hear your thoughts!

I have just completely updated my Christian PLR site, Christian Mom PLR. Not only does it now have a new look, but the PLR packs for more organized and I have created an affiliate center with training tools.

Why did I do all of this? Well I have this goal. I want to double my sales this month. The June challenge at the Elite forum is to make sales. So this is my challenge for the month. I know it can be done and this is just the first step.

My next step is submit at least one article a week to the different article directories. I would like to submit more than one a week, but I have to be realistic and know that any more than that would be hard for me.

I also have plans to put my Christian PLR Twitter account to good use. If you are not following @ChristianPLR, I highly recommend that you do. I have some fun stuff planned.

To round out my efforts I have outlined a series of videos to create centered around Christian PLR. What is it? How can you use it? Is it ethical for Christians to use it? If you have a question about PLR you would answered, leave it in the comments and I’ll answer it in a video.

P.S. Christian Mom PLR has an excellent affiliate program that pays 50% for every sale. If you are not an affiliate already, stop by and sign up today.

Of course I have my favorite podcasts:

Bob The Teacher Internet Marketing Lessons

I would love to find some good Christian business podcasts to add to my list. So if you know of any, please leave the link in the comments.

Have you ever thought about doing a podcast? As I mentioned above, I tried once to host a regular podcast on another site, but it just wasn’t a right fit for me. I don’t know if it was the topic that wasn’t a fit or just podcasting in general, but I realized it wasn’t something I was enjoying. But if podcasting is something you are interested in, then WordPress has a lot of great plugins to help you out!

These plugins automatically add your podcast to your blog and many of them even add them to iTunes for you as well.

Podcasting Plugin by TSG

PodPress

Blubrry PowerPress Podcasting Plugin for WordPress

MTR Podcast Recorder

Buzzsprout Podcasting

Technically with the latest versions of WordPress you don’t really have to have a plugin to host a podcast on your blog. WordPress.org has a great little tutorial on how to do this without plugins.

If you have a favorite podcast or host your own podcast, please let me your link in the comments so that I can check it out. I’m always on the look up for new podcasts to listen to while running!

P.S. If you are looking for some information on how to get started with Podcasting, Kelly McCausey has a great guide that can help you get started.

I also have a FREE e-course over at Christian Mom PLR teaching you how PLR can help create your podcast.

As we all know blogs have exploded in popularity in the last couple of years. Back in 2006 CNET reported that there were over 175,000 new blogs started every day. That was 4 years ago, the number has to be much larger now. Even a large number of churches are starting blogs to help with their visibility. But my question is this, Should Churches Blog?

In Matthew 28:19-20 we are giving the Great Commission, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Can a church help full-fill the Great Commission with a blog? Blog are unique because they can reach anyone anywhere. There is no geographic limit to who you readers could be. You literally could reach people all around the world with your blog. And of course you can also teach people with a blog. You post devotions, scripture, articles, etc. You can instruct your readers how to correctly interpret the Bible and explain the commandments God has given us.

However there are some things you just cannot do on a blog, or online for that matter. You cannot baptize them. You cannot hold their hands, kneel down, and pray with them.

In my personal opinion, I think a blog can be a great ministry tool for a church, but cannot be their only ministry tool.

What do you think? Should churches blog?

Everyone says you need a niche for your site to truly make money online. So what is a niche? A niche is a specific topic that you focus your site on. For example on this blog I write about working at home, but more specifically, working at home as a christian. That is my niche, christian work at home. So how do you find a niche?

Since I am a Christian and try my best to put God first in everything, including my online business, one of the first questions I ask myself is, Will this niche bring glory to God? If not, then I stop right there. Of course, you niche doesn’t have to be Christian or faith related in order to bring glory to God.

Second, is the niche something you are passionate about or at least enjoy writing about? Unless you want to pay for someone to write for you, you will more than likely be creating a lot of content for your site, blog posts, special reports, articles, etc. Make sure the niche is something you enjoy and are at least a little bit knowledgeable in.

Third, do some keyword research. Wordtracker has a nifty free keyword tracker that you can use to see how many people are actually searching for a certain keyword. If no one is searching for your niche, you might want to think twice before starting a site based on it.

Fourth, pray. Before I start a new site and choose which niche to go with, I pray about it. If it is in God’s will, then everything else will fall into place. This one took me way too long to figure out. It’s hard to give your business over to God, but well worth it.

So this is how I find a niche. How about you?

P.S. Lynn Terry wrote a great post about choosing a niche not long a go, How To Choose A Niche (Quick Exercise). It’s worth a read too.
